Associate of Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (LASDTAA)This pathway is designed to meet Associate in Arts degree requirements with a concentration in Ceramics & Sculpture (3D Fine Arts).
In this pathway, you’ll grow your passion and appreciation for art, while completing the foundational courses required to transfer at the 3rd year level to a four-year university, college or art school. You’ll develop your artistic skills and techniques through faculty instruction and hands-on studio work in:
- Ceramics
- Drawing
- Painting
- Printmaking
- Sculpture
By creating functional ceramics and sculpture, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while strengthening a foundational knowledge of 3D composition that is critical to developing representational, spatial and model awareness. Students who choose this pathway find that the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they develop are highly valued and transferable to many other fields. Whether you want to become a professional artist, an industrial designer, museum curator, or an art administrator, earning an Associate’s degree with an emphasis in ceramics and sculpture can help you transform your artistic talent into a career.

Step 1: Apply and register at South Seattle College anytime (the application is always free). Once you become a student, register for classes using the online class schedule and go to the academic calendar for registration dates and tuition deadlines.
Step 2: See an advisor to create a personalized educational plan by the end of your second quarter. Your plan will include prerequisites, graduation requirements, and transfer preparation if you plan to transfer to another college or university to earn a bachelor's degree.

Once you complete this Associate degree, additional education opportunities include:
- A bachelor’s degree in fine arts, art history, design or a related field at a four-year college or university.
- A Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree at one of the Seattle Colleges.
South Seattle College has direct transfer agreements with four-year institutions throughout Washington state, including University of Washington, Washington State University and Seattle University. Graduates from South have also transferred to out-of-state institutions.
