Online classes or eLearning, as we call it at South, require additional effort and resources from the student. The information and links below, provided by our eLearning Department, will help guide your decision to take online classes and your course experience.
New to eLearning?
Will online classes work for you?
If you have never taken an online class, please watch our “Is eLearning for Me?” video to hear from our online instructors and students who have taken an online course.
Do you have the technology and skills?
After determining if an online class will work for you, you want to make sure you have all the required technology and skills to be successful in the course. Please review this list to assess your readiness to take online classes.
What should I expect? How do I prepare?
In addition to the required technology and skills, you need to know what to expect in an online class. A full list of tips on how to be a successful online student can be found here.
How to Register for an Online Course?
New students to South need to complete the Steps to Enroll and an orientation before registering for classes. New students can register for classes with an advisor at the New Student Orientation. For assistance with this process, please connect our outreach and admissions office at 206-934-6684 or InfoSouth@seattlecolleges.edu.
If you meet the prerequisites for the course(s) you plan to take, you can register through your MySouth student portal.
