Health, Fitness, and Recreation
Spring Quarter Service Update
The South Seattle College Fitness and Recreation Centers will continue to provide programs and activities virtually until college protocols are instituted to ensure a safe return for our normal mode of operations.
Campus Recreation includes the Game-Room, Fitness Center, recreational activities, and intramural sports. Our staff, through our facilities and services, provide health, wellness, nutritional, and personal-growth programs that complement student learning outcomes and promote student retention and success.
The Game Room provides students the opportunity to engage in recreational activities while networking with other students. The Game Room has ping pong tables, pool tables, video games, and video screens. Sports and recreational equipment, such as tennis rackets, can be checked out with a current student ID. The Game Room is in the Jerry Brockey Student Center, opposite the Bookstore.
Intramural sports programs vary by quarter and typically include soccer, softball, basketball, and volleyball. Through South Seattle College intramural sports, students can learn the fundamentals of sports organizations. They can also develop team-building skills and have a fun/healthy outlet different from traditional classroom learning.
Come join in some fun and active student groups on campus -- hiking, soccer, biking, and games -- or start your own! Sports and Rec clubs are housed in the Game Room.
The new campus Wellness Center is well on its way to being complete; the walls are up, the floors are down, and the murals have been painted. Next steps are to get our new equipment delivered and installed. We can’t wait to be able to share this new space with you! Learn more about the Wellness Center.
