Remote Operations Update:
Student Assessment Services is currently offering English and Math placement options online. Please click on the following links for both English and Math placement instructions.
Students may complete their English placement remotely by taking our English Directed Self Placement tool. (Please note, Basic and Transitional Studies Level Four and below and International Students with F-1 Visas are not eligible for the Directed Self Placement tool).
Students may complete their Math placement remotely by taking the ALEKS Math Placement Test through Seattle Central College. You will need to send a copy of your placement test score to firstname.lastname@example.org to be able to register for classes.

Instructions: If you took a placement test from another Washington State 2 year college within the last year, look at the following table for your class placement.

|Under the Washington State Placement Reciprocity Agreement, South Seattle College will accept your English and Math placement scores from other WA State 2 year colleges to use for comparable class placement at South.
To use for class placement:
- Complete this form and email a copy of your placement scores and the originating school’s placement recommendation to email@example.com (Note: if sending test scores, your copy must state your course placement).
Bring a copy of your placement scores and the originating school’s placement recommendation to an advising appointment.
- Bring a copy of your placement scores and the originating school’s placement recommendation to the Student Assessment Services Office, Robert Smith Building 76.
