Information Literacy SLO Rubric

Criteria Explanation:

  • Access: student understands the existence and means of finding various sources of information.
  • Select: student evaluates and chooses appropriate sources of information.
  • Apply: student cites and employs appropriate sources of information consistent with the completion of work (paper, project, discussion post, etc.).

Rating Scale Explanation:

  1. Beginning:  lacks evidence of meeting the criterion.
  2. Developing: somewhat demonstrates evidence of meeting the criterion.
  3. Competent: meets the criterion.
  4. Accomplished: meets and/or exceeds the criterion in a meaningful way.

Glossary of Terms:

  • Appropriate-  viable, sanctioned, in the ‘correct’ manner.
  • Sources- purveyors of information.
  • Information- media (primary and secondary).
