I-BEST/Career Training
What is I-BEST?
I-BEST (Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training) is a program that helps students learn English, math, college readiness, and job skills while starting a career training program. The goal is to help students move through their program faster and into living wage jobs.
I-BEST classes are taught by two teachers in the same classroom. One teaches job skills and the other teaches basic skills in English and math so that students get academic support while learning the skills they need for their future career. These classes are usually taken during the first and/or second quarters.
Who would benefit from I-BEST?
I-BEST can be a great option for English language learners, adult students who are completing a high school diploma/GED, and students who are brushing up on English and/or math skills who want to get started training in a career.
