Our drop-in classes, like the Weight Training Lab and Gym Girls, provide a welcoming space for hands-on learning and community building. For those seeking a more structured approach, our for-credit courses offer in-depth instruction in areas like physical fitness, yoga, and personalized training programs.

Drop-in classes are free for all Wellness Center members. See class listings for details about location, class descriptions, dates and times and any special requirements needed.
Weight Training Lab – Instructor Melbourn Lagahit
Mondays and Wednesdays 11AM-2PM – In person only
Weight training labs are designed to help individuals or small groups in a non-academic setting learn more about exercise science. Come and get some help with your health and wellness journey by learning about weight training, movement and exercise, program design, nutrition, and general wellness.
Gym Girls – Instructor Phung Dinh
Tuesdays and Thursdays 2PM-3PM – In person only (SWC 07)
This ladies only workout program aims to provide a space where women can come together to build community and learn about gender specific training to benefit their goals while doing so in a safe non-compromising environment and avoid gym anxiety.

PEC 150 Beginning Physical Fitness (1-3 credits)
Beginning Physical Fitness includes instruction in developing, executing, and maintaining individualized fitness programs that highlight cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Students learn to use cardio and weight machines, free weights, and other equipment, as well as participate in a variety of activities, to help meet personal goals. Information about anatomy and physiology, nutrition, injury prevention, and fitness trends are also included.
PEC 151 Intermediate Physical Fitness (1-3 credits)
For students with previous fitness training experience, Intermediate Physical Fitness develops cardiorespiratory endurance through walking, jogging or aerobic machines, and muscular fitness via free weights, weight machines, and stretching activities. Individualized and instructor-driven workouts align with student goals, best practices, and established training principles. Intermediate level skills and workout designs are presented, and supplemental fitness information is provided.
PEC 136 Yoga (2 credits)
This course covers yoga postures, breathing and meditation practices for physical and mental health. The history, philosophy, benefits and holistic nature of yoga will be explored as well as the development of a personal practice. All fitness levels are welcome, and all poses can be modified to accommodate physical limitations.
