This pathway is designed to meet Associate in Arts degree requirements with a concentration in Digital Arts and Photography.

Students who are creative thinkers, good with technology, and artistic would be ideally suited for this pathway. In this pathway, you’ll learn the creative, technical and problem-solving skills to design visual graphics for print, web, video, social media, and more. Students pursuing this degree gain broad and basic knowledge and skills in principles of 2D design, visual literacy, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, photography history, photography technology, operation of a digital camera, operation of a professional photographic quality printer, and more. Whether you want to work in a design studio, advertising agency, or in a corporate in-house design department, this pathway will help you transform your creativity into a promising career in digital art and photography.

A Bachelor's degree or higher may be required for some careers listed above.

Once you complete this Associate degree, additional education opportunities include: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in studio arts, art history, interdisciplinary arts, design or a related field at a four-year college or university.
  • A Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree at one of the Seattle Colleges. 

South Seattle College has direct transfer agreements with four-year institutions throughout Washington state, including University of Washington, Washington State University and Seattle University. Graduates from South have also transferred to out-of-state institutions. 

Program and admissions requirements vary from college to college. Contact an advisor to create an educational plan tailored to transfer to the institution of your choice.
