Interdisciplinary Social Science
Associate in Arts DTA
Two-year Degree
90 Units
This pathway is designed to meet Associate in Arts degree requirements with a concentration in the Social Sciences.
Students pursuing this degree combine the study of American Ethnic Studies, Anthropology, Gender Studies, Geography, Political Science, and Sociology. The social science pathway examines diverse cultures, identities, social structures, and movements in the US and around the world, both past and present.
In the Social Science pathway, students analyze issues such as race, gender, sexuality, class, and citizenship in relation to society, culture, global and local movements, social justice, and the state. As a social science student, you’ll gain the ability to reason critically, research and communicate effectively, and work across a range of social sciences to better understand—and impact—the major issues facing our society.
