Student ID & PIN

A student identification number (SID) and personal identification number (PIN) are needed to access student records and online services.

SID - Student Identification Number

The college assigns a 9-digit student identification number to every student who applies to South Seattle College. Effective Winter Quarter 2012, new students may use the same SID assigned by another Washington community or technical college. Students must provide their correct social security number when applying on the web application system to take advantage of this option.

PIN - Personal Identification Number

Your PIN is initially established by the college at admissions and is set to your birthdate in MMDDYY format. Update your PIN for increased records security.

Student Identification Card

Students taking 3 or more credits are required to have a student identification card. Students enrolled in ABE, ESL, Community Service, Parent Co-op or Senior Adult Ed programs have the option to purchase a card. The fee is $7.50 and provides  library privileges and computer lab and fitness center access.

Lost or Forgotten SID or PIN

You can retrieve your student identification and personal identification numbers by logging into the MySouth Student Portal. You will be asked to provide your email address associated with your student record. You will also be asked to answer your previously selected security question.

Contact the Registration Office if you are unable to access your student identification and personal identification numbers through the MySouth Student Portal.
