Due to the COVID-19 closure, our office is closed and we are not administering any tests at this time. Students may complete their English placement remotely by taking our English Directed Self Placement tool.(Please note Running Start, Basic and Transitional Studies Level Four and below, and International Students with F-1 Visas are not eligible for the Directed Self Placement tool)
If you need to take a math placement test before our office is open, you may take the math placement test online through Seattle Central College. You must send all placement test scores to email@example.com to be able to register for classes.
The ParaPro Assessment is offered at South Seattle College in partnership with ETS (Educational Testing Service). The ParaPro Assessment is for prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. The test measures skills and knowledge in reading, mathematics, and writing, as well as the ability to apply those skills and knowledge to assist in classroom instruction.

We are typically available for appointments Monday-Thursdays from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. The test is 2.5 hours.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org at least two business days before you would like to take the test.

We charge a $75 fee for the ParaPro Assessment. The non-refundable fee can be paid with cash, check, debit or credit card at the South Seattle College Cashier’s Office. The Cashier’s office is located in the Student Services lobby in the Robert Smith Building (RSB). Please bring your receipt with you to the Student Assessment Services office when you arrive for testing. We are located in the Robert Smith Building, room 76.
What to bring
A government issued identification card with your name, photograph, and signature (Passport, driver’s license, or state issued ID card). All other personal belongings will be stored in lockers provided by Student Assessment Services.
No calculators, reference books, or electronic aids are allowed during the exam. Student Assessment Services will provide pencils for you.
Unofficial scores are available onscreen at the end of your test. You will be sent an official score report 2-3 weeks after your test date. The qualifying score for the state of Washington is 461.
