Summer & Fall Quarter Information
Summer Quarter Information
Summer Quarter will begin as originally scheduled on June 29 through primarily online and alternative modes of remote instruction. Summer registration for returning students opened May 18 (new students can start registering May 26). Please note you can also register for Fall Quarter 2020 classes at this time.
While most classes will be offered remotely this summer, there are limited exceptions planned in our Professional-Technical programs. In accordance with public health and social distancing guidelines, those exceptions are:
- Two Welding Fabrication Technology classes (WFT 120 and WFT 121) will be offered at SSC’s Harbor Island Training Center. Please contact your instructors with questions.
- Aviation Maintenance Technology will hold AMT 214 and AMT 234 classes for students closest to graduation, with one class held on campus and the other at our Boeing Field facility. Please contact your instructors with questions.
- Apprenticeship programs offered through our Georgetown campus will offer in-person instruction where necessary at a variety of locations. For questions about your specific apprenticeship, please contact your apprentice coordinator or instructor.
The remaining Professional-Technical programs (Culinary Arts, Wine Studies, Landscape Horticulture, Automotive Technology, Diesel & Heavy Equipment Technology) will not teach in-person technical courses this summer but students may still have the option to enroll in required general education courses, offered remotely, for their certificates and degrees. Please contact your advisor to explore this option.
Fall Quarter Information
Fall Quarter will start on Sept. 29 and registration is now open for current and new students. Active planning and decision-making for fall class delivery methods is underway in accordance with public health guidance, and more information will be provided as soon as possible.
Current details about class delivery (online, hybrid, in-person) are in the class descriptions, found at the MySouth online class schedule. We will continue to evaluate the COVID-19 situation and make updates in the course descriptions.
