The Student Assessment Services department administers tests that enable advisors to place students in classes appropriate to their skill level.

You do not have to take placement tests if you:
  • have an official transcript on file at SSCC listing college level English Composition and college level Math with grades of 2.0 or higher (read about incoming transcript evaluation),     OR
  • are taking 5 or fewer credits in a Vocational Program, Liberal Studies, studio or performance class.
