City Council to Vote on Storm Lease
As Storm fans know, KeyArena has been the home court of the Seattle Storm since our inaugural season in 2000. Now, in our 10th anniversary year, we look forward to signing a new lease for the Storm to play at the Key for the next 10 years! The proposed lease must be approved by the City Council. It will be discussed in the Council's Parks & Seattle Center Committee next Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 9:30 a.m. The Committee may then vote on the lease at their next meeting on Jan. 27, and the full Council would then vote on Monday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.
City Councilmembers welcome hearing from the public. If you want to let them know you support a new lease for the Storm to play at KeyArena, the best way to do that is to send an email or leave a phone message for as many Councilmembers as possible. Go to: http://www.pan.ci.seattle.wa.us/council/councilcontact.htm to send a group email to all Council members. SSCC employees should be sure to do so during off work hours using a personal email account.
