Welcome to the LPN to RN Ladder Program Applicant Information page

As a service to applicants to the LPN to RN Ladder Nursing Program (RN Program), this page will feature necessary information about this year’s admissions process.  Applicants are encouraged to check here regularly for updates.

Applications for the Fall 2009 RN program are now closed. Currently, the RN program begins once a year in the Fall term. The next opportunity to enter the RN program will be Fall 2010. The application for this entry will be due July 1, 2010.

Changes for applications beginning Fall 2010:

• Attendance at an RN Orientation is required before the application deadline.
• Application deadline will be July 1st.
• Pre-requisite classes completed after Spring quarter will not be considered.

Changes for applications beginning Fall 2011:

• The minimum GPA for each of the 6 academic pre-requisites and LPN coursework will be 2.5.
• The time limit on the 3 science pre-requisites (BIOL&241, BIOL&242, and BIOL&260) will be 7 years.

Applications for the Fall 2010 LPN to RN Ladder program must be postmarked no later than July 1, 2010. Applications that are incomplete or are postmarked after this deadline will not be considered. Applications will be available on this website no later than May 2010.

South Seattle Community College selects its RN class based on a competitive process.  There is no waiting list for the program. 

Important Dates for the LPN to RN Program starting Fall 2010:

• May 2010
  Applications will be available on this webpage.
• July 1, 2010
  Applications must be postmarked by this date to be considered for Fall 2010.
• August 2010
  Notification of acceptance.
• September 27, 2010
  First day of Fall quarter and the start date of the RN Class of 2010-2011.
• Spring 2011
  Graduation of the LPN to RN Class of 2010-2011.
