Distribution Requirements   (50 credits)
• Visual, Literary and Performing Arts
   (15 credits from at least 3 areas)
  • Language and Speech: CMN 105-Basic Speech
  • Literature/History of Ideas: ENG 231-Children's Literature
  • Music, Art and Drama
• Individuals, Cultures and Societies
   (20 credits from at least 3 areas)
  • Individuals and Societies (10 credits):
    EDU 201-Introduction to Education  (May be used as U.S. Culture); PSY 110-General Psychology
  • United States Culture (5 credits)
  • Global Studies (5 credits)
• The Natural World
   (15 credits from at least 3 areas)
  • The Physical Universe: PHY 101-General Physics I or equivalent
  • The Living World: CHE 101-Chemistry or equivalent; BIO 101-Biology or equivalent
  • Science, Technology & the Environment/ The Language of Science
Area Electives   (10 credits)
  • EDU 200 - Seminar in Peer Tutoring
  • EDU 250 - The Para-educator in Education
  • EDU 274 - Science for Teachers

Sample Course Plan
Students may start their program any of the following quarters: Fall, Winter, or Spring. By taking at least a full-time load (15 credits) quarterly for six consecutive quarters (not including Summer), a schedule may be planned allowing completion of required curriculum.
