Overview        (Skip to Application Forms and Documents)
  • An academic year begins in September and ends the following August. At South the academic year consists of four (4) quarters - Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer.
  • Typically, financial aid applications and awards cover funding for a maximum of three (3), full-time quarters in the academic year. Summer funding is limited, so please contact the Financial Aid Office if you plan on attending.
  • Completed applications are evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis in the awarding cycles listed below.
  • Students who complete the application process by the awarding cycle date will be notified of their financial aid eligibility before the first day of class. (See Application Checklist below.)
  • PLEASE NOTE:  South Seattle Community College does not participate in Federal Stafford Loan (subsidized or unsubsidized) or PLUS (parent loan) programs.
