Transportation Subsidies for SSCC Students
Funded by the Transportation Management Fee, South Seattle Community College subsidizes many different transportation options for students. SSCC students can save money, save the environment, and relieve stress.
"Go-Pass"
This is a transit pass that can be used on some public transportation systems for trips valued up to full fare.
"Go-Pass" may be used on:
- Metro bus service anytime, anywhere, all over King County, as often as you wish
- Sound Transit express bus service
- Sounder Train
- Water Taxi (operates summer only)
Who may buy a subsidized "Go-Pass":
- SSCC students taking 10 or more college credits who do NOT purchase a parking permit may purchase a "Go-Pass" for about a third the cost of an outside agency.
- SSCC students taking 10 or more college credits who DO purchase a parking permit may purchase a "Go-Pass" at an unsubsidized price which is still cheaper than purchasing directly from Metro.
- SSCC students taking under 10 college credits who do NOT purchase a parking permit may purchase a "Go-Pass" for about half the cost of an outside agency.
- SSCC students taking under 10 college credits who DO purchase a parking permit, may not purchase a "Go-Pass" through the college.
Other Transit Agency Passes
- SSCC students taking 10 or more college credits also have the option of purchasing a pass from another transit agency like Ship-to-Shore or Community Transit and be reimbursed up to $45 quarterly.
- See the Transportation Coordinator in Robert Smith, room 50 (RSB map) to request reimbursement.
- SSCC students taking under 10 college credits are not eligible for this reimbursement.
