 Often referred to as the “best kept secret in west Seattle,” the arboretum was originally built to serve as an outdoor classroom for students in the Landscape Horticulture Program. Since then, the arboretum has also become a serene place for community members to visit and a preferred venue for weddings and parties alike.
The Arboretum at South Seattle Community College offers many
different and affordable venues, perfect for a wedding ceremony, reception or other event! Some of the most popular areas of the arboretum are the entry garden, lined with exposed aggregate pathways and large patches of grass. The sensory garden, reflection pool area, with a large pool and tranquil, rock fountain and beautiful gold fish. The gazebo, which was build by local residents over 20 years ago, features a beautiful view of the downtown Seattle skyline on a sunny day.

Rental Fee $500* Rental includes use of the areas listed below for up to five hours, including one hour for set up and one hour for clean up.

Sensory Garden & Reflection Pool: This space comfortably accommodates up to 100 people around the perimeter of the pool, which features a rock fountain and beautiful goldfish. |
Helen Sutton Rose Garden: As you walk the path to the Helen Sutton Rose Garden, the wonderful fragrance of roses fills the air. Ideal location for a photo opportunity. |
Coenosium Rock Garden: This unique garden features a beautiful back drop of dwarf conifers and the tranquil sound of a trickling stream. |
The Gazebo: The rustic gazebo, nestled among beautiful flowering plants and evergreens, offers a beautiful view of the Seattle skyline on a sunny day. This space is perfect for an intimate reception. |
